Biomass System Sizing

University of Strathclyde Glasgow in black text with university crest

£65.00

Description

The online course will be available for three months from the date of purchase.

Biomass System Sizing online course is aimed for those who want to get started with the Carbon Trust Biomass System Sizing Tool.

The tool provides users who possess limited information about a potential biomass heating project with the means to make an initial feasibility assessment. The tool will provide the user with some quantitative guidance relating to their project, making reasonable assumptions about those aspects that may not yet be subject to detailed design consideration. This information is the starting point for consideration of the key issues relating to relative boiler size, thermal store capacity, and auxiliary boiler requirements. On completion of this course, the user should be able to confidently use all features of the tool, and understand the meaning of the various inputs and outputs provided.

Target audience: The tool has been designed for both building services design professionals and biomass system installers. A minimum level of knowledge of how building heat load calculations are carried out, and a basic understanding of biomass systems is required.
