Advanced Machining Physics

Description

As the manufacturing industry evolves, a deep understanding of advanced machining physics is not just a valuable skill; it's the key to innovation and success.

Machining is the process of transforming raw metal materials into precise components, from intricate aerospace parts to everyday house hold items. It's a fundamental skill that underpins the entire manufacturing industry, and its importance cannot be overstated.

This two-day, in-person training course will provide delegates with a comprehensive, in-depth understanding of each element taking place during the metal cutting process.

The course is taught by recognised machining experts using theory and real life examples to help demonstrate advanced machining concepts.

It is recommended that delegates have completed the Fundamentals of machining training course or have equivalent metal cutting knowledge to get the most out of this course.

Practical Photonics Skills

Description

Scotland has a booming photonics industry featuring key players such as Thales, Leonardo, Coherent, and Technology Scotland, and is estimated to be worth around £1.2billion to the economy. With clusters of innovative, internationally recognised photonics companies across the country, producing highly skilled engineers and scientists is critical.

In collaboration with the University of Strathclyde, NMIS has created a five-day course offering an introduction to the practical skills needed to work in a technical role in the photonics industry. Delegates will gain a top-level appreciation of key photonics components, protocols, and practical skills.
