Description

During this week-long course, participants will take a hands-on approach to analytical instrumentation as it applies to forensic chemistry. Participants will develop the skills necessary to properly handle unknown substances, perform routine instrument maintenance, develop a step-wise analysis approach, and analyse forensic evidence.

Participants will build a working knowledge of the following:

- Presumptive laboratory testing
- Confirmatory laboratory testing
- Liquid/liquid separations and extractions
- Analytical instrumentation including GC/FID, GC-MS, HPLC, and FTIR
