Participants will develop the skills necessary to properly handle unknown substances, perform routine instrument maintenance, develop a step-wise analysis approach, and analyse forensic evidence.
Participants should have an interest in chemistry and the laboratory environment. No previous or specialised forensic training is necessary.

Symposium on Forensic Investigative Genetic GenealogyDescriptionOn 6th June, 2024, attend a full day symposium on Forensic Investigative Genetic Genealogy (FIGG) to summarise knowledge and create discussion for possible users of the method on the UK scene and beyond. The invited speakers will be international experts with direct experience and interest in the topic. The event is for forensic scientists, FSPs, police forces, legislators, legal professionals, law enforcement agencies and advanced genealogist interested in understanding how this approach will impact future forensic practice.
