Python for Engineers (Self Directed Course)

Python is a powerful and popular programming language. It has rich ecosystem of packages for scientific and technical computing that make it particularly well suited for engineering applications. In this course we take students from programming inovices to the point where they can productively apply Python in their daily work. The course content is grounded in practical engineering use cases, such as manufacturing data analysis and analytical design calculations.

In the course we will cover:

• Python basics and an introduction to writing code
• Working in a notebook-style environment (Jupyter)
• Using core Python packages (Numpy, Matplotlib, Pandas etc.)
• Manipulating, analysing and visualizing data in Python
• Numerical and symbolic analysis in Python

Each student will receive:

• Course material (lecture notes, videos, tutorials, projects)

 ○      fully self-directed learning material that can be completed remotely and at the students own pace

• Access to cloud-based data science platform
• Access to School of Python community, where they can get ongoing support and engage with other students.
