This course is designed for: (a) Engineering professionals who want to reorient their careers toward technical positions (b) Industrial professionals with basic knowledge in the field of electrification willing to expand their knowledge (c) Industrials interested in familiarising themselves with cutting-edge technology for aircraft power electronic converters.

Power electronics enables unprecedented levels of flexibility in power conversion that, in aircraft, is harnessed for supplying avionics, pumps, and battery chargers. The deployment of power electronic converters is key for More Electric Aircraft (MEA) in which hydraulic/pneumatic actuators are replaced by electric actuators, as it is for the development of aircraft with hybrid and electric propulsion. This course explains the construction and operation of the different topologies for AC/DC, DC/AC and DC/DC conversion used in aircraft applications.
