Managing Organisational Sub-cultures for Successful InnovationInfo Location Contact More Info Event Information![]()
DescriptionManaging team members, collaborators, and stakeholders from diverse backgrounds can be a complex process. When you introduce new technology, advanced manufacturing processes, and digital innovation into the mix, you must be a versatile leader to prevent breakdowns in communication and disappointing outcomes. This course will teach you how to effectively navigate the complex issues associated with collaborating with a group of people with different backgrounds and worldviews. You will learn how to diagnose culture issues effectively and how to overcome the difficulties of conflicting organisational cultures and sub-cultures by designing and establishing “cultural islands” in which the cultural features of the created organisation or team are matched to its specific needs. Attendees will come away with more vital leadership skills and personal growth, particularly in relation to complex, ambiguous situations involving change, such as those which arise in digital manufacturing. You will also develop your influencing skills and agility in managing difficult leadership and business relationship environments. The course will consist of 4 half days (mornings) over a 4-week period to facilitate development and sharing of experience between sessions: Tuesday 7th June 9am to 12pm – Strathclyde University TIC building, 99 George Street, Glasgow. Light networking lunch provided from 12-1. Tuesday 14th June 9.30am to 12.30pm - online via Zoom link. Wednesday 22nd June 9.30am to 12.30pm - online via Zoom link. Thursday 30th June 9am to 12pm - Strathclyde University TIC building, 99 George Street, Glasgow. Light networking lunch provided from 12-1. Please note that this will be a highly participative learning programme, with full involvement expected to maximise learning amongst the group.
