The course aims to provide the delegates with an introductory appreciation of the fundamentals and key technologies for aircraft electrical power systems.
The course will include the fundamental theory and operational principles of power electronics and machines. The challenges associated with fault management and reliability are included, together with the principles of power system protection for aircraft. The course will discuss future aero-electrical systems including more-electric and hybrid-electric aircraft, as well as emerging technologies for the decarbonisation of aviation. The fundamentals of cryo-electrification technologies and applications (superconducting and hydrogen applications) will be discussed.
